>HTC Flyer 7-inch tablet Hands-On from MWC 2011

24 三月, 2011 發表留言

> www.tweaktown.com Today HTC announced its first tablet at MWC called “Flyer". It is a 7-inch tablet with a 1024 x 600 display running Android and maybe most notably with HTC Sense for Tablets. Many will know HTC Sense on HTC’s range of mobile phones, a kind of overlay on the OS which includes a range of easy to use widgets and such. HTC Sense for Tablets is much of the same thing, but has been optimized for the larger screen. Next up is HTC Scribe Technology which implemented a “scribble" feature which allows the user to jot down notes or mark certain sections in books or even on Facebook and other applications that they want to remember or to easily show to a friend. Using the included multi-function pen, you can select different pen thicknesses and colors and just start writing in many different areas. If you want to make changes, you can adjust the pen setting and use it as an eraser. From the looks of things, you use the pen to tap in a certain area of the screen and it quickly snaps a screenshot and launches the “Scribble" application. Basically, it seems like you are editing a saved screenshot image in a very simple graphics editor. Then if you like you can share the Scribble image using a range of different methods. >Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 – Hands-On – Engadget

> You know who took the iPad 2 launch pretty seriously? Samsung, that’s who. Just as we had heard, the company’s executives were impressed by Apple’s ability to slim down its tablet and, well, it turns out that it took it as a challenge to come up with some thinner tablets of its own. That’s right, in addition to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 that we have seen repeatedly teased over the last few weeks the company’s announcing a totally revamped Galaxy Tab 10.1, and both slates are incredibly thin yet very well spec’d. On top of that, both will be the first Honeycomb tablets to stray from the pure Android 3.0 experience and add what Samsung’s taken to calling its TouchWiz UX or TouchWiz 4.0. We’ve got all the details and some hands-on impressions waiting below, so hit the break!

>RIM BlackBerry PlayBook Hands-On

> Tablet, tablets, and even more tablets. That seems to be the common theme resonating throughout CES, but when there were so many that were there just to make it to the show, only one seemed to truly stand out as it came to life in usable form. For a good majority of the tablets showcased at CES, they were merely shells that didn’t quite have a polished platform experience to undoubtedly release their full potential. However, RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook managed to enthralled us right on the showroom floor with its overall better looks and fully functioning platform experience to usher in a new era for them. http://www.phonearena.com

>Nook Color Hands-on

2 三月, 2011 發表留言

> There is no stopping the inevitable, but consumer demand for tablets is alarmingly becoming more competitive as we continue to see many more manufacturers coming on board in this hot market space. However, not everyone is so keen on jumping with the trend as tablets still sport a premium price with their ownership. That’s where the Nook Color comes to mind as we got the opportunity of checking out this e-reader first device which boasts some features that gives other dedicated tablets a run for their money. Priced at $250, which is far more forgiving than the $500 and up tablets out on the market right now, the Nook Color can sensibly become a reasonable tablet replacement for some people. http://www.phonearena.com
